Neale’s guiding focus these days is the always productive Missouri River, which has one of Montana’s highest trout populations. Great fishing and scenery are found just half an hour out of Great Falls, where plenty of lodging options are available.

The Missouri River between Craig and Cascade is in excellent shape with good water levels and water temperature. A lot of fish are being caught on caddis dry flies, early morning and late evening. Nymphing has been good too. Fish really haven’t started hoppers yet. Everything seems later this year because of high water in the spring.

Fishing below Holter Dam for about ten miles has been good. They are biting only on nymphs. Beyond ten miles it hasn’t been good for fishing.
