27th Annual Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Western Music Rendezvous
Friday, August 10, 2012 - Sunday, August 19, 2012
This four-day cultural event gives visitors the opportunity to experience a visual and oral history of the West and central Montana, typical of that depicted by Charlie Russell, who lived and painted in this area for many years. The ultimate goal of this event is to continue passing the legacy of our western heritage on to future generations. The audience has the opportunity to listen to and enjoy genuine western poetry and music from those still practicing that life style. A FREE music stage in the Eagles Grand Hall will provide hours of wonderful entertainment for serious western music fans.
Thursday the Welcome Chuck Wagon Supper and Open Microphone Party will be hosted at The Eagles. Poets and pickers are the guests of Montana Cowboy Poetry's board for the Welcome Party. Tickets for this intimate evening are available to the public as well, at Don's Store.
Don's Store, the 'Store for Everyone,' is selling tickets for the Thursday night Welcome Party, as well as general admission, reserved and VIP backstage party tickets for the Saturday night show.
Friday and Saturday, The Eagles will host over 50 day sessions of cowboy poetry and western music. A pin-pass is required to gain admission to the cowboy poetry and acoustic western music listening rooms. The pin-pass can be purchased at the Cowboy Poetry Registration Desk at The Eagles, anytime after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16.
Friday night the Jam-n-Dance will be held at Pine Meadows Club House, overlooking the twinkling lights of Lewistown with the Judith Mountains in the background.
Celebration Community Fellowship Church, atop the hill across from Snowy Mountain Motors, is hosting Cowboy Poetry Gathering's Cowboy Church, Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.
