Seven Lazy P Ranch
Here along the Rocky Mountain Front is where mystery, adventure, and inspiration begin to unfold as the rocky north fork canyon opens up. And from it flows the Teton River with its sources in many canyons which have their quiet beginnings up against the Bob Marshall Wilderness. And now you enter a world where beauty and solitude provide a setting for those who truly wish to leave the world behind and some to a place where one can relax, explore, and enjoy a lifestyle that is in harmony with the pristine native wilderness. The ranch itself rests on a bench overlooking the north fork of the Teton River, surrounded by rugged mountains on all sides. Chuck and Sharon Blixrud have owned and operated the Seven Lazy P Ranch since 1958.
Our ranch's main activity is the daily horseback riding to a variety of scenic places. Both half-day rides and all-day rides can include a tasty sack lunch taken into the surrounding areas with our guides. Floating the river on an inner tube, trout fishing, bird watching, walking, and hiking in the immediate area are favorite activities among our guests. We have a naturalist on given days, so bring your camera, binoculars, and wildflower and bird books. Also, activities such as swimming in the nearby waterhole. A variety of wild animals are also found in the area. It is beautiful country to see, explore, or simply have fun in.
We also offer pack trips and fall elk hunts into the Bob Marshall Wilderness on horseback on several scheduled trips. Chuck guided these high adventure trips for the last 48 years, and they are now led by Dave Hovde, who has added his skill on these trips for the past 27 years in the same tradition.
So why not dig into your closet, take your hat off the shelf, dust off your boots, call your friends and tell them what you are doing, and then make plans to head for this LAST BEST PLACE. Remember, there's a little cowboy in all of us.
