Montana Scenic Loop
Straddling the Northern Continental Divide of the Rocky Mountains the nearly 400-mile-long Montana Scenic Loop has it all: spectacular mountains, extensive wilderness, abundant wildlife, vast plains, and charming communities.
At the heart of the Montana Scenic Loop is the Bob Marshall Wilderness flanked by the Great Bear Wilderness on the north and the Scapegoat Wilderness to the south. Surrounding this wild gem are four National Forests and a host of Wildlife Management Areas and National Wildlife Refuges. Beyond the forests are striking vistas the Rocky Mountain Front, Glacier National Park, the Flathead and Blackfoot River Basins. Along the way, fifteen communities (each with a distinct personality) roll out a special welcome for travelers on the Montana Scenic Loop.
From high, rugged mountains to wind-swept plains, you'll travel what many people consider is the best scenic drive in the West. You can jump straight to our interactive map and choose the communities you wish to explore at www.montanascenicloop.com. Or go the sure but steady route, viewing a summary of each community before embarking on your online journey. Do you need some travel info about getting to the nearby gateway communities surrounding the Loop? Or would you first like to view some stunning photos of what you can expect to see along the Loop? Go ahead, sit back and take the journey! The only thing better is to drive the Loop itself!
